The Layering Lip bar comes in two beautiful finishes — Foam for a burst of hydrated, intense colour, and Matte for a polish matte finish that firmly adheres to the lips.

For some of us who accept used their previous editions of gradient lip bars, how did this Layering Lip Bar compare to the predecessors, and did it really manage to achieve the desired ombre lip look that it promises to requite? In guild to discover out, the Daily Vanity team put LANEIGE'southward Layering Lip Bar to the test.

I take tried all previous versions of the LANEIGE Lip Bar, and all of them are designed to create the signature Korean slope lip expect effortlessly.

I found the very first version and the third version (the Two Tone Matte Lip Bar) too drying for my parched lips, and they always brand my lips look flaky and dry. I stopped using them because they simply don't work for me.

My favourite of the previous versions was the LANEIGE Two Tone Tint Lip Bar. I loved how it gave my lips a dewy look and how hydrating information technology was. In fact, I loved it and so much it is one of the lipsticks I always reach out for. Considering that I own more fifty lipsticks, it tells you a lot virtually how much I enjoyed information technology.

The new LANEIGE Layering Lip Bar has a gorgeous packaging (in rose gold!) that actually caught my eyes. Its six-tone pattern also grabbed my attending; I expected it to offering an even more seamless gradient compared to the two-tone ones, and it didn't disappoint.

I find that the LANEIGE Layering Lip Bar was able to help me create a beautiful slope without needing to practise any blending or smudging – something that I had to do with the previous LANEIGE Lip Confined.

I like that I could use a lighter hand to become a barely-at that place wait and if I wanted something more than outstanding, I simply had to use it with a stronger hand.

My shade (#6) is a beautiful coral that I actually love. It helps brighten up my complexion instantly and I fifty-fifty use it as a blush sometimes if I actually want to go for that "fruity, juicy" expect.

The Layering Lip Bar has certainly taken over the #1 spot in my center as my favourite LANEIGE Lip Bar currently. I'one thousand sad, Two Tone Tint Lip Bar, it looks like I'll exist picking up this newest version more than regularly from at present on.

One of the get-go few lipsticks I ever bought was LANEIGE'south Two Tone Lip Bar – I wanted to try creating the Korean slope lips await, and was floored by the idea that a lipstick could actually achieve that effect past having two shades in ane product.

While the first edition didn't work so well for me (the colour gradient I hoped to achieve never quite materialised), I never gave up hope and bought the Two Tone Tint Lip Bar when it was introduced. This came in a much more hydrating formula, and I loved the pop of color that came with the lip lotion.

But when I thought I had met my favourite lip slope product, LANEIGE released the ultimate game-changer: a lip production that has SIX tones! While the previous editions of the lip bars had difficulty achieving a seamless colour gradient (not an easy feat, actually, when you merely have 2 colours), this brand-new Layering Lip Bar can hands create your desired colour gradient!

The Layering Lip Bar glides on the lips very smoothly, which is a huge plus. It also gives a nice, moisturising sheen to your lips, which the Two Tone Lip Bar isn't capable of (see comparison photos). If I actually had to nitpick, I would say that the cream lipstick is not meant for long-wear: it is not transfer-proof, and you volition have to touch on up afterwards virtually three to iv hours, or after a meal.

I tried #14 Candid Brick, which is a lovely, warm shade of rose that is flattering on all pare tones. It is then like shooting fish in a barrel to wear that information technology is not just piece of work appropriate, but also something you tin pull off on any other casual day. If you are not keen on bold shades, I highly recommend that you opt for this wearable MLBB color.

Despite being a matte lipstick, the Layering Lip Bar feels comfortable and does not dry out my lips at all.

I would give this new lipstick from LANEIGE plus points for the stylish and convenient packaging! I similar the colours and gradients and the softness of the shades! The pop of colour on my lips instantly brightened my complexion.

My simply gripe most the Layering Lip Bar is that is not very long-lasting, and is not transfer-proof, and then you will have to reapply this lipstick after every repast.

While it is not obvious that there are six different shades, I can withal tell at that place are different layers of colours on my lips. The awarding is very smoothen and glides easily on my lip, which is great!

Natalie, shade #19 (Genie Blood-red)

Mine is in the shade No. 19, Genie Red, and has a matte finish. It is officially described the brand as a truthful, deep carmine; nevertheless, I plant that the colour was closer to a vivid pinkish when worn on my lips, which is consistent with the images and swatches found online.

This isn't a shade that I typically gravitate to because I adopt wearing MLBB colours, but I'grand glad I gave information technology a try considering it actually doesn't look half bad on me. The Layering Lip Bar is very buildable – information technology looks natural with ane to two swipes, but if you employ a few more times, information technology appears as a hot, bright pinkish!

However, I plant that the application wasn't a complete breeze: I've never used any lip confined before prior to this product, so I was puzzled every bit to how I should be wearing information technology.

What I understand is that information technology isn't meant to apply evenly per se considering it is supposed to appear as a natural, gradual gradient. While that takes some getting used to, I appreciate the versatility of the production. Information technology as well goes on smoothly and is less drying than other Korean lip products that I've tried.

All in all, I would say this product is worth a effort, especially for fans of the Korean gradient lip look!

LANEIGE Layering Lip Bar review: Determination

Based on the experiences of the reviewers in the DV squad who accept tried previous lip bars, this looks like it could exist the all-time lip bars that LANEIGE has launched so far.
